We love answering questions at Waverley Exteriors. Whether it’s at a free on-site survey, over the phone or via email, we’re always happy to use our expertise to answer any query thrown our way.
That’s why we sat down with our very own Exterior Solutions Specialist Michael Denyer, to answer some of the questions we’re asked on a regular basis.

Do we supply engineering calculations?
Yes. All canopies are supplied with engineering calculations to show the foundations required and the cost of this. Many factors influence the price, like the size and complexity of a project, but we’d say £1400 is a rough idea of cost.
What are your canopy drainage solutions?
Our aluminium canopies come with integral gutters and downpipes. (We discuss this in a separate blog post about mounted gutters and downpipes). The rainwater is then usually dispersed on to the ground via the integral downpipe at the foot of the post.
Aco drains or hoppers can then be installed in front of the posts, or we can connect the downpipes directly into an underground drainage system.
Is there any waste?
All aluminium profiles, except the posts, are cut to the exact size required for the project in our factory. So there is very little waste.
Packaging is also kept to a minimum and put into the correct recycling skip on site, or removed and recycled elsewhere.
Do you deliver?
Yes. One of our vehicles will be used for the delivery and can be booked to arrive at a specific time.
It’s one of the steps we’re taking to make our canopy production more sustainable.
Do your drivers offload?
It depends. Our drivers and installers will offload by hand whenever possible. But sometimes a forklift or telehandler may be required.
