Five memorable projects from 2022

We’ve had an incredibly busy few months since being launched back in May this year.

While the majority of projects have been in the education sector, our jobs have also spanned across the hospitality, commercial and healthcare industries respectively.

And with 2022 coming to a conclusion, we asked our Exterior Solutions Specialist Mike Denyer to talk us through his five most memorable projects this year.

Baylis Court

It’s a job we’ve posted a lot about this year and I love the finish of it! We colour matched the frame of the canopy to the surrounding external doors of the building, which were a really nice shade of blue. It was great to see a school using our colour matching option and breaking away from some of the more traditional colours.

Tolworth School

Tolworth is another project we’ve been vocal about, and I think it shows how schools can really maximise their spaces with creative thinking.

We installed two canopies on site. The first was a free-standing apex canopy needed for additional dining and socialising space. This is quite a common reason for schools installing a canopy. However, the second was to be used as a secure locker area, which was something I’d not seen before! Our team installed a lean-to canopy just shy of 30m in length, complete with glazed panels, aluminium doors and a secure lock.

Hanslope Primary School

Though we couldn’t get any photos of this project in the end, it really sticks out as a memorable project. We supplied and installed four canopies for the school, with the three free-standing mono-pitch canopies running along the outside of the building.

It was a really difficult but satisfying install. We had to meet two of the canopies between a two-part walkway with steps in between, so getting the levels right for this was tricky.

Freemantles School

This was a challenge as we had to meet the angles of a canopy that was already on site there. The projection of the frame was just under seven metres in the end, and it really complimented the existing canopy.

Elmgrove School

Last but by no means least is the two canopies we installed at Elmgrove.

This was another great example of the canopy being colour matched to the windows at the school, in an iron-grey finish. The frame was also fitted with LED strip lights with the cables hidden inside. It was another really smart finish!
