Baylis Court, Slough

Baylis Court is a comprehensive secondary school for girls aged 11-18, with over 1,000 students across the school and sixth-form.

Their mission is to pursue excellence in everything they do to ensure their students leave with the qualifications to set them up for their next step in life, and they have a great track record of doing this!

Based in Slough, the school is part of the Thames Learning Trust and also has Specialist Arts Status.

The Requirements

Ahead of the new academic year, they were looking to enhance their facilities and install a free-standing canopy to provide additional dining and social areas for pupils to enjoy come rain or shine. The canopy also had to be colour matched to the blue from the external doors of this part of the building.

And in their pursuit of excellence, Baylis Court contacted Waverley Exteriors to help them with the project.

Our Solution

After assessing the drawings and an on-site meeting, we supplied and installed the WeatherSpan® aluminium free-standing apex canopy, colour matching it as per the brief.

We ensured the canopy provided substantial space for students to enjoy during break and lunch times throughout the school year, with the wind tested frame measuring 10m x 10m.

The canopy has an integral gutter which creates an incredibly streamlined finish to complement the surrounding area.

The Installation

We installed the canopy during the summer holiday ahead of the 2022/2023 school year. Despite the soaring temperatures in the UK over the summer, the project was completed with no installation issues.
